The entire team at Mobile VMS in collaboration with Balfour Beatty are delighted to have been honoured with the ‘Confident Customers’ award as part of the recent SMP Alliance’s OU7COME AWARDS.
These awards recognise the collaborative hard work of all colleagues across the Alliance and supplier network through key measurable outcomes: Home Safe & Well; Confident Customers; Production Excellence; Inspiring Workplaces; Enriched Communities; and Enhanced Environments.
This award commended our team who delivered an innovative solution to queueing on M25 J5-7 NEAR South programme as part of an ongoing consultation with the on-site TM team. Mobile VMS proposed a trial of their new Automated Queue Warning (AQW) system to help reduce overall risk of rear-end collisions, smoothing traffic flow and providing additional updates on queuing traffic to the motoring public and project teams.
The system delivers real-time advance active warning capability with no need for manual interference, ensuring real-time messaging on VMS upstream, allowing reactive driving behaviour and appropriate slowdowns at critical points. It also provides reporting on journey times and queue behaviour to enable even more informed TM decisions.
